...I forgot to share with you my little goody gift packs I made for the holidays, and felt they deserved a bit of blog love. Using these super cool edible marker pens, I decorated tiny shortbread cookies. The pens have a paint brush-like tip and though they seem to have mixed reviews, I thought they were very easy to use. I whipped up the same recipe as these and also used a gingerbread cookie recipe from here (you can kind of see the gingerbread cookies in the image below). I like to ... Read more
Happy 2013!!!
A brand new year! We went to a great New Year's party last night with some new-to-me Latin American traditions (walking around the block with a suitcase for good travel vibes, eating lentils and grapes for prosperity, etc.) and though we had to leave early to get K to bed, it was loads of fun. Monday Outfit: Reversible Coat + Knit Dress with Bow
**Apologies to those trying to leave comments - there was a hiccup with the database (or so I'm told) and some comments were lost. I really started getting into the groove in October when I joined in the KCWC fun. Although I pin my hand-sewn clothes images to one of my ... Read more
Happy Holidays + Polka Dot Party Dress
Hello! We are in a frenzy here, but in a good way. My mom is visiting from California for a few weeks, and not only do we get to sample her glorious cooking, K gets to practice her budding Japanese language skills. That up there is a little tree in K's room. The ornaments are about an inch high, and we've had them forever. I made a little party dress. It's a french-inspired dress from this book. I've had this polka dot silk-like fabric in my stash for a while now. It's probably polyester, ... Read more
