Good morning, friends! I don't know about you, but I'm having a bit of a sewing mojo crisis. I thought I would be all pumped and ready to get cracking on tons of sewing projects with the new year, and in theory I definitely am. Maybe it was seeing the sheer number of clothes I made for K en masse a couple of weeks ago, but I started to hear whispers of "what are you doing?" in the back of my mind. And as I stitched up this absolutely lovely top from this absolutely lovely book in an …

Sewing for Me: Pre-spring plans
As part of my de-stressing initiative, I've decided to post clothes I've sewn for myself every other week instead of every week. I'm not above admitting that it just got...nutty. My grey dress is still looking at me balefully from the sewing table, and at this point, who knows if it'll get done. But hey, I sewed a lot more for myself than I expected, and I ended the year with a grand total of 37 completed items. So let's jump in: MAY Total May items: 4 Most worn: Pink Stripes Knit Top. It's an easy, comfy top and you just can't go …
Juggling Balls
So much for not posting daily. I was trying to cut myself some slack, but when I spent time thinking about this past year, I realized that one of my favorite parts of it was blogging. M told me the other day that for the last 18 months or so, I've been happier than he's ever seen me. We've been together nearly fifteen years, so that's saying a lot. There's something about this medium of visual and textual storytelling and community interchange that fits my temperament. This morning, I was …
