STYLO Issue 2: Part 2

May 13, 2014

Oooh, I get my own STYLO cover version! Celina powered through technical snafus, and it looks like the second issue  is now live, and it was so worth the wait, no? Look at K, giving her best bossy look in what has to be the most beloved creation to date: the Cali Faye Cadette Coat. It trumps the Frozen costume, which says it all. Tons of pictures alert! So the theme was "fresh-citrus-metallics," and I immediately knew I had to use this mint wool from my stash. The Cadette Coat pattern ... Read more

STYLO Issue 2!

May 12, 2014

STYLO!! I'm having serious impostor syndrome, friends -- I did an awkward yet exuberant polka/hip hop dance move when Jess and Celina contacted me about contributing to their uber cool new online magazine and was gripped with both inspired elation and bone-quaking terror of letting this dynamic duo down. Issue 2 is hot off the press, and if you have any interest in kids' fashion and sewing at all, you're probably well aware of this fresh and stylish take the magazine offers for handmade clothes. ... Happy Friday + Randomness

May 9, 2014

Some prep sketches for the book. I've been loving this handmade paper for its texture and I've been having a blast with all my watercolor/gouache paints. Me-Made-May 2014: Week 1

May 8, 2014

Well, I'm thrilled to say that I wore something handmade every day for the first week of May. Initially I had this grandiose scheme of sewing something new every week with each Me-Made-May recap, and then I came to my senses. What with deadlines galore, I had to aim significantly lower. Especially since I didn't anticipate how much time taking and editing daily photos of myself (ugh) would require. So here's what I'm shooting for this month: small alterations to ready-to-wear garments I ... Read more

Free Mother’s Day Printable

May 7, 2014

I'm still on a poppies painting rampage, and I figured they might make a rather sweet Mother's Day card/tag/whatever...what do you think? It could be a bright little embellishment to your Mother's Day gift or print on some sturdy cardstock and write a message on the back! It's up to you. There are four per page, which is probably more than you need, but it's always nice to have extras, right? To download the printable for personal use, click here (P.S. if your printer is funky like mine, ... Read more
