Good morning, friends! I can always tell when autumn is giving way to winter briskness just before the full chill blast because I start to feel under the weather. We had a festive weekend that included a going away party for a friend (an exciting overseas move), but sadly, I had to cut out early due to the sniffles. But sniffles or no, sewing seems to have become an ingrained activity each weekend, and this was no exception. Let's start with the stripey one, shall we? I'm going ... Read more
Happy Friday + Randomness
Some of my favorite moments are when I am walking to or from school with K and having aimless, easy conversations. Yesterday, she squeezed my hand and said, "Remember? The baby hand and foot castings above are from when K was four months old. My father-in-law was a children's dentist before he retired, ... Read more
Sewing for Me: Liesl + Co. Weekend Getaway
A couple of weeks ago, I was sipping my coffee and going through my daily routine, when I nearly fell out of my chair. The Life-Changing Bread?
I don't know about you, but when a photo of a hearty-looking bread with the label "Life-Changing Bread" enters my Pinterest feed, I immediately pin it and decide to make it the next day. Lucky for me, when I checked the ingredients I had almost everything in my pantry except the chia seeds, psyllium husks and sunflower seeds. Somehow, without realizing it, I've become the kind of person who usually does have chia and sunflower seeds on hand, but I'd used them up. So I went to my local ... Read more
Fall Sewing Plans
Remember my vacation wardrobe sketch? I had forgotten that I doodled my plans for fall sewing at the end of summer, and I found it in one of my sketchbooks yesterday. I've done pretty well so far...I made the Clover pants and a dolman-sleeved top, A tunic tee, a plaid Tova (though it's not a button down), a long-sleeve dress. A lot of blacks, greys, navys, but no surprise there, right? I'm thinking a motorcycle jacket is rather ambitious and unrealistic (and maybe even out of character?) and ... Read more
