Jellyflats

So, I am tracing and cutting patterns today and in between those tasks, I thought I would make a jelly roll cake.

But no. I followed the instructions to the letter, and still the cake cracked all over the place.

So instead of a roll, they are flat:

…and I thought maybe I should add some jelly…

…and hey, why not slice them and make them mini layer cakes and style the whole thing a little differently?

But no. I’m afraid this wasn’t one of my better desserts. It’s edible but I think next time, I will have to try this one. The recipe I tried is this one.

Rachel is a master at natural dyeing and I’m super excited to learn from her and create indigo-dyed linen. This is all I have going on in the gardening front, but these bright green seedling leaves sure feel perfectly summer-y to me…🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
