Happy Friday! The winner of the swimwear fabricย giveawayย is #23 Kate! She provided a delicious-sounding recipe for vegan taco salad. Yum. You should have received an email from me by now Kate, congrats!
Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes! My actual birthday was super low-key, but lovely. So I’m running around like a madwoman trying to get everything ready for camping, and a multitude of other things are going on so I’m posting my Friday post on Thursday to confuse you all (I was trying to fix a mistake you’ll see in my haiku and ended up making things even more haywire).

Ever since calling my legs “giant squashes”, K has been loving using interesting analogies to describe me:
K: Mommy, you’re so pretty! Your hair is like night…
Me: Oh thank y…
K: I’m not done! Your eyes are the color of tree trunks…your nose is like a tiny pear…and your teeth are like tofu chunks!!

When We Were Young postย
went public by my mistakeย
I don’t seem to learn
Man, I am the queen of accidentally publishing my posts. If you use Google Reader, don’t read the post yet! It was meant to go live on Sew Pony next week…but just in case you’ve seen it, I will be changing things…Have a wonderful weekend, everyone and hope you get to celebrate all the Dads in your life!!

Congrats, Kate!
LOL, tree trunks and tofu chunks… that just made my day!
Oh dang, I missed the early post?! That’s okay, Sanae. Mistakes makes life interesting.
Have fun camping!

Thanks Venus! These accidental publishes are bad for my health!! ๐ The tofu chunks slay me – so funny…

Congrats to Kate! Fun thing to win. Hey have you heard of MarsEdit? It’s basically a word processor tailored to blogging, makes linking really easy, and it syncs with flickr; I compose all my posts in it and have it set to “Post Status: Draft,” so even if I accidentally hit “send to blog” it still doesn’t publish immediately. 30 day free trial. Check it out. It’s hard to explain. ๐

MarsEdit sounds so awesome, but alas, I’m not a Mac user (yet). I’m a PC user from all those years working for Bill Gate’s companies…I’ll have to see if I can find a PC version! Thanks Kristin!

Yipeeeee! I don’t know if I’m more excited that you liked my recipe or that I get to make some bathing suits! You’re seriously celebrity status over here! ๐ I check your blog regularly since Cherie’s Japanese Sewing Book Series – I really love everything you make. You have me hooked ๐ ps. I haven’t gotten an email yet, but I’m anxiously awaiting!

So glad that we were able to connect via email, Kate! I’ll ship it out soon and thanks for your sweet comment – blushing!

The best, right? I wish I could be half as witty on command like she is!

my two year old was smacking my leg and saying it was like a great big giant sausage today. I’m third trimester! I can’t help it! Lol
sanae says
Haha! I’ve gotten my share of leg-smacking too! How exciting that baby is due so soon, Tara!!

I just wanted to let you know I have been checking in on your blog every morning for the last six months or so. Its become part of my “read with a cuppa” routine before getting ready for work. I love the clothing you make, both kid’s and adult’s, but most certainly in awe of what you make for yourself. Its been wonderful eye candy, and very inspirational. So thank you for helping my day start with something good.

Oh Grace, what a wonderful comment – that just made my week! Thank you for visiting daily. I’m humbled and am often a little astounded that I’ve stumbled upon this warm and welcoming community. ๐

You should check out the fun analogies in Song of Solomon (in the Bible) with your daughter… I don’t think I’d be as flattered if my husband said them to me now. But I think they were positive back then! ๐

You’ve piqued my interest, Kristi. I’ll need to check it out!
