Have you seen the latest issue of STYLO yet? So, so good.ย And did you happen to see the ninja, samurai and bunny dolls? Yep, I whipped them up and submitted a tutorial and pattern that can be downloaded from STYLO. I drew the characters in Adobe Illustrator and then created pattern pieces by pulling apart my drawing below:
They’re quite small and a lot of fun to make and several kiddosย in my life have been especially coveting the pet bunny doll (one girl tried to sneak off with it).
Okay! Just wanted to share, and back to work…but wait, I can’t resist one more shot:

Yes, I saw them!! We got our book on Saturday afternoon and by night time we had our little Kunoichi doll. She is receiving special treatment and Rainbow Dash has been forgotten! Lovely book Sanae and my daughter truly loves it, we have been reading it every night since Saturday…that means a bit of OCD and that she really likes it!
sanae says
That makes me happy beyond belief, Maria! And you made the doll!!!!!!! You rock. xoxo
Karen says
So cute! Checking the post every day for my book, its going to be so exciting when it arrives!
sanae says
I sent it out a while ago, so it should be arriving next week, I think?? Fingers crossed! Thanks, Karen!
Steph Skardal says
You could make a Spoonflower (fat quarter?) cut-n-sew template with this!
sanae says
Oooh, now that’s an interesting idea I have to explore. I’ve been wanting to create those cut-n-sew type of fabrics! Thanks, Steph!
Lucinda says
oh, the cuteness! and congrats on being published in Stylo – I’d say that’s quite a feather for your cap:)

๐ I think they’re pretty darn adorable myself. Jess and Celina are so sweet and awesome that they immediately said yes when I asked if it would be possible to take a slightly different angle in promoting the book. I love the sewing community!
Alana says
These are incredible!! Will be making the bunny for my daughter for sure!!
sanae says
Hooray! So far, the bunny seems to be the runaway hit out of the three dolls. ๐
Alana says
Sorry…I’m sure I’ve read this somewhere on your blog, but is there a way to buy signed copies of “Little Kunoichi” from you?

Lightning McStitch says
Oh I think I’ll have to make these once we get our hands on the book! Thanks Sanae

It was fun to stitch these up – it’s probably a good thing you’re not pattern testing this one because…well, let’s say that I put it together in record time. ๐
