Sanae Ishida

A crafty little atelier in a grey city

January 14, 2015

Arrows

many-arrows

sometimes. life shoots arrows

that pierce blindly

the released air

sounds

like sighs of sadness

or

hiccups of laughter

or maybe

gasps of wonder*

*I am having a week in which the highs and lows are engaged in a major tug-of-war. So for today, this is all.

Thank you, Anna! Simple words, simple drawings – they suit me well, I think.

Sounds a bit like my own week, I must say. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for more highs throughout the rest of the week, both for you and for myself!

Thanks so much, and hope your week is improving, Jana! It’s the nature of things to ebb and flow, no?

Oh, thank you Kath! Poetry is not my forte at all, but I liked the way those words worked together 🙂 It seemed much more productive to futz with words than to wallow.

I have a proverb that helps me through times when I feel like that…”Do not despise the day of small things”. I guess another way to say it is do not despise the small things we see/accomplish/taste/enjoy in our days (even when our day is really bad!) I hope your week is better than you can dream.

I like that proverb! Reminiscent of don’t sweat the small stuff, but a much more eloquently stated message. Thank you for the sweet words, Arlene!

I sure hope the highs (or at least the middle ground) wins over the lows!!

Love the poem despite the inspiration 🙁

As your week draws to a conclusion, hoping that you see goodness and growth as you reflect back. And may the days ahead bring a balance of peace that allows your spirit to rest. Thinking of you, my friend.

I appreciate that Lucinda! Thank you. A week of massive highs and sorrowful lows. In the end, I suppose it sort of cancels each other out 🙂

I’ve been sewing a lot and have noticed that now I’ve been sewing a lot and have noticed that nowadays I sew the way that my husband buys clothes: the same things in different colors. Once I find a pattern that I like, I’ve developed a habit of whipping out multiples. I’ve made a bunch of these simple woven tees (1st 2 images) and about half a dozen knit batwing tops (3rd image — a turquoise one is in the wash right now). I’m now working on several leggings. Soon, though, I’m going to move onto spring dresses! Excited!! #isew #handmadewardeobe
