Happy Friday + Randomness

March 14, 2014

Happy Friday! More digital painting fun: I got this visual dictionary of plants from the library and have been admiring the shapes of leaves. So many variations exist, and I love examining the details. ******************************************************* On the way to piano lessons yesterday: Mama! I absolutely want to be a singer when I grow up no matter how much stage fright I get. I love it! Listen to this song I made up: "We want to be wild and freeeeeee // Please don't bother ... My Fave Sewing Tools

March 13, 2014

So, not a lot of sewing is happening this week, though that's going to be changing as soon as I turn in my sketches by Saturday. In the meantime, I rounded up some of my favorite sewing tools, just because. When I first started sewing about six years ago, I didn't really know what supplies to gather beyond a sewing machine, iron, ironing board, pins and shears. Enough

March 12, 2014

I even asked him to park at least a block away so no one would see me duck into the back ... Read more

Healthier Rice Crispy Treats

March 11, 2014

On Saturday, we had a mini early birthday celebration for one of our sweet little friends. She is turning five, and treats were in order, but she's lactose-intolerant so I searched for some dessert options that wouldn't involve any dairy. I could have gone for vegan cupcakes, but how could I pass up a chance to make healthier rice crispy treats? And how cute are they stacked high with candles on top? I love that she's trying to blow out the candles from as far away as possible. I used ... Read more

Monday Outfit: Bleu et Bleu

March 10, 2014

Good morning! We had such a great weekend filled with fun. On Friday, K's school had a "Family Japan Night" which involved getting dressed in kimonos, playing Japanese games like "fish the water balloons", and eating Asian-style hotdogs (they were regular hotdogs with topping options of the fish flakes variety). They even had karaoke in the library, complete with disco lights. We had friends over on Saturday, and I cooked up a storm - I'll be sharing some yummy recipes later this week. Sunday ... Read more

I’ve been spending less time around here — the I’ve been spending less time around here — the landscape has been feeling dark and murky and I wish I had a magical luminous flower like this bunny to light the way…#procreatewatercolorfun
