I know. I’m beating the indigo theme to a pulp, but what can I say? I love the color so much. Plus, that was my dominant hue of the book, which seemed like the ideal color to include with the Art Walk concept, etc. etc. Perhaps you share a love of indigo too?
I had created these “samplers” as a reference for keeping track of which prints have sold (each square is an individual painting), but then several people wondered if I would sell the samplers as prints, and then I thought it might be fun to do a giveaway.
Here’s what the entire display looked like at Drygoods (the display wall is behind the sewing machines, which I think is pretty awesome; you can see the samplers at the lower right – the actual prints will have a darker blue like the images shown above):
These are 8.5″ x 11″ prints with twelve indigo squares per print. I’ll select three winners and the winners will receive a print of their choice. I probably don’t need to mention this by now, but international entries are always welcome.
The question, the question…oh, my friends, my brain is flubbery and empty. I enjoy all these book events, but three of them in one week exceeded my introvert quotient. I’m decidedly wiped out and need to squirrel away to recharge with a soothing beverage. Any comment will do to enter the giveaway, and perhaps you have a decaf tea recommendation? I’ve become an avid tea drinker lately, and this one is my favorite. With a splash of almond milk, it’s so good.
I’ll leave the giveaway open until the end of the week and will announce the winners next Monday, May 16th!

Blue is my favorite of all colors, and my freshly painted sewing room would love to welcome a beautiful print like this!

What a lovely blog you have! Indigo blue is one of my favorite colors and would love to win one of your prints. I, too, love drinking tea. One of my favorites is Cinnamon Vanilla Healthy Skin tea by Yogi. It is caffeine-free. With a little bit of honey it is quite delicious. Thank you for this giveaway!

Market spice has a really nice decaf. I order it from Australia (I’m a native seattlite by birth). Your indigo print could be the inspiration I need to take that trip to Japan and take a sashiko class, maybe a quilt class with Yoko Saito? BTW my grandson LOVES his tooth fairy whale pillow. Thanks for helping me win Granny points.

I really enjoy a lemon tea in mid-morning. It’s really light but invigorating.
alexa says
I would love to win a print! My current favorites for decafare a lemon ginger mix and also celestial seasons Bengal Spice (it’s cinnamon). Both taste good chilled too.
Alexis Borsboom says
Nettle tea is so nourishing. You can mix it with garden variety mint too and ice it for a perfect summer beverage.
I just found your blog and I’m in love.
Kristi Andres says
At our house we have been making peppermint (or fruity tea if you like) and then pouring it over ice and adding lemonade. We love it! 🙂 And with the peppermint it’s super refreshing. Our new summer favorite.
Crystal Sell says
Oh those are just beautiful!!! I love so much! I am a fan of oolong tea with a splash of cream. I will have to pay attention to the comments to find some new teas to try!
Charlotte says
Love these, & I’m also a bit obsessed with indigo. My favourite tea is green tea with cherry or rose, & I also love white tea.
Courtney says
Upton Tea has the best chamomile flowers in the whole world, and those chamomile flowers make the most soothing beautiful tea, I’m pretty sure. 🙂
These prints are absolutely beautiful.
Maria Crossan says
These are beautiful! Rhubarb tea is my new favourite 🙂
li says
Love indigo too! Have you read the blog: blueandwhitetokyo.com? Besides being a neat site, the blue and whites are wonderful and she has a book devoted to the subject.
Annelieke says
I love them! So YOU! And indigo is a spectacular color. I noticed that bout your book, and the consistent colors tied things together so beautifully.
EmSewCrazy says
Lovely pieces! I found Bengal Spice tea. There isn’t any tea in it at all and it is cheap celestial tea brand. Lots of spices…
Carole Whitridge says
I read about our book on Ginger Sews and asked for it for Mother’s Day. I have read it from cover to cover and am thrilled to discover your beautiful blog.
Jenny says
I’ve always loved blue, but you’ve introduced me to a whole new world of blue! Indigo is so rich. I may even try Sashiko embroidery, once your book arrives (for some reason the store I ordered from said they weren’t getting it in until 7/5, so I’m hoping they sent their elves to the post office straight away!
Herbal tea. It’s autumn here, so I’m enjoying a Twinings Ginger and Apple blend. You might fancy something a bit more citrusy and lemongrassy… Which gives me an idea!
Emi says
Your paintings are beautiful! I always enjoy seeing your work <3
As for tea recommendations, I love rooibos tea!
Amanda says
Love, love the color indigo and your prints are fabulous. I don’t really have a decaf tea recommendation, but I always recommend buying higher quality loose-leaf tea instead of bags. If you get good quality tea you can reuse the leaves for several brews, which is great for all-day drinking episodes.?
Jess says
I’m a tea addict, and my favourite brew at the moment is Madame Flavour’s Rasspberry Hibiscus tisane – caffeine free, tangy, delicious. It’s an Australian brand but available online. Your paintings are just gorgeous, perfectly simple. All the best xx
Celeste says
I’m pretty much just a water drinker, so I’m no help there. I love the constellations!
--anu says
I can highly recommend Honeybush tea, my favourite bagged variety is made by Numi. Very soothing.
As for indigo, have you tried traditional indigo dyeing? I went to a workshop a couple of years ago to have a go and it was just magical! And all the chemistry that goes with it, amazing! Though I have yet to use the yarn I dyed.. For home I bought one of those instant Jacquard indigo kits where you don’t worry about alkalinity or acidity, I am hoping to try it with my daughter one of these weekends.
Gabriella Di Caprio says
Since I an a child blue is my favorit color and if not enough I loved to watch the stars with my father. With regards to tea I love PUKKA. Have a look at the inside of the package and I guarantee you, you will love it.

I am from Belarus, so I’ve never heard about decaf tea:) (joking!! now the culture of tea and coffee there are developing) But I am really love indigo color and sometimes I hear that I belong to indigo generation. Now I live in Israel and drink just Lipton Earl Grey with milk or Indian tea with milk that my friend brought from India. I’m glad to open your blog for myself, maybe I could bring to my life something new with it. Thanks for your Giveaway!
katharina says
oh I love these prints, if I win one, I’ll send you some tea from austria!
Alexandra says
What a lovely giveaway!
My favourite decaf (aka not-black) tea is peach flavoured rooibush tea. I love it, especially in summer, but sadly it just doesn’t have that black tea zing that I want! Apart from that I love fruit infusions (current fave: rhubarb!) and herbal tea. The one I am currently drinking called “Mystischer Hexentee” (mystical witches’ tea), and I only bought it because of the label – it has a cat in a pointy hat drinking tea, and that never fails to make me smile. (I offered some to my cat Louie, but he didn’t want it. Maybe cats aren’t tea drinkers.)
Trina says
These little squares of blue are so beautiful! Hope you recharge your batteries soon. I love lemon juice and ginger root with honey if you need a pick my up or Yogi cinnamon tea is delicious xxx
Jules says
I drank so much Celestial Seasonings wildberry zinger tea when I was pregnant with my daughter that I was actually worried it might do her some harm (spoiler alert: no harm done, but she is as obsessed with tea as I am ). I enjoy Good Earth teas occasionally now, though I’m afraid I’m a dyed in the wool black tea drinker.
Stacey says
I’ve been drinking Numi “Amber Sun” turmeric tea in the evenings. It has rooibos, cinnamon and vanilla in it so the turmeric flavor isn’t too strong. And it’s a really pretty color! Might be fun to try dying something in it?
janeray1940 says
I love your prints! I’ve been obsessed with all forms of blue as of lately but especially indigo.
Jolien says
I’m currently a fan of rooibos, regular type. My current pregnancy ruined my love for Earl Grey, so rooibos it is now. Even though it’s not even real tea…
kristin says
Ah these are beautiful, Sanae! I love blue so much. too, never get sick of it. It’s not decaf, but a British lady once made me tea that was english breakfast plus lapsang souchong, a super smoky flavor that was amazing. Yum.
Marianna says
This is a timely post for me as I have been gathering the ingredients to concoct my first indigo dye pot….soon, I promise mySelf, soon. Your prints are inspiring as is your blog. I feel grateful to have just discovered it and you. We enjoy mostly Ginger tea these days…Organic Ginger Aid by Traditional Medicinals…..it was recommended by our Ayurvedic Practitioner.
Cath says
Just a comment to tell you how much I enjoy coming to your blog — it is so soothing and joyful. I love the way in which you have embraced being creative and am striving to do the same myself. Not succeeding much of the time, but will keep trying. Love all your art work so owning one of these prints would be wonderful.
As a native South African I have to recommend that you try Rooibos (red bush) tea.

I don’t have a particular brand of tea that I love, but I do love those teabags that work in cold water to make iced tea! SO much more convenient! I love your prints, they are so gorgeous!
taliastravelblog says
No tea recommendations but I love indigo.
Daniela S. says
I am more of a coffee drinker but once in a while I drink chamomile in the evening. The indigo prints are beautiful.
mjb says
I love these prints. I’m looking for a replacement for the Celestial seasonings bengal tea because it turns my daughters’ mouths red! I have a feeling it’s a byproduct of cheap cinnamon.
Betty says
These paintings are gorgeous. But pretty much any painting I’ve seen on your blog is beautiful!
If you’re looking for tea suggestions, many of the Republic of Tea flavors are delicious. I’m partial to the ginger peach, though I prefer the regular to the decaf version. My current favorite tea is Breakfast in Paris by Stash Tea. It has a great lavendar scent and taste.
Enjoy your tea and best of luck to you as you continue your book launch events!
Susan says
They are beautiful!

Three things I love all in one ~ sashiko, indigo dyed anything & the constellations ? I like coconut flavoured green tea as well as the fruity herbal ones x
Nickie says
I love my morning SENCHA green tea…sitting with a warm cup of tea is my way of starting off the day on the right foot. Then I can begin the daily dance! Congratulations on your new book!
Diane says
Just came from the Indigo Social web site and fell in love with your indigo pieces, am huge fan of Sashiko and indigo. My tea to go to since am allergic to many spices and citrus etc is Rooiboos in leaf form. Would love one of the squares,
Eliza says
I love sashiko, indigo, and teas of all sorts! I think the Yogi Tea throat coat is super delicious (even without a sore throat). I also think simple fennel tea is underappreciated and surprisingly hard to find in this country, though the brand Puka has one I’ve found. In Germany, fennel tea was on every menu and given to children, everyone…
Anna Gerard says
I love these prints..so gorgeous.
Try this tea..you won’t be disappointed:
