Happy Holidays!

December 21, 2015

2015-joypeace

Filled with loved ones, I hope it is.

Brimming with inside jokes and outside ones too.

A magical time.

A time for reflection.

Perhaps some wistfulness as well.

Deck those halls, or leave them bare

But most of all, I’m wishing you all

Peace + Joy, Joy + Peace, whatever combination thereof

P.S. If you need any last-minute gift tags, you can download them here and here. [UPDATE: I just sent out extra holiday goodies to Furoku members, so check your Promotions/inboxes :-)]

P.P.S. I’ll see you back here in about seven days!

ps Love the watercolour! I need those colours in a chunky knit for a cowl! (I’m into knitting right now)

Is the first line channeling your inner Yoda or am I just drowning in Star Wars over here?

Oh, I’m totally channeling Yoda, Claudette! M went to see the new Star Wars movie with his co-workers so there’s been a lot of SW references lately ;-). Happy, happy holidays! xo

Happy holiday Sanae, and take care of you:) Another book I’m reading: I avoid anyone Oprah gets in her sights even if they are wonderful just because:( but now after so many years I’m reading The Power of Now.
I wish I had found it earlier, but we learn things when we’re ready to learn them! Just happy to have read it now: NOW:)
    Happy New Year! Annelieke

The word that incites terror in most newbie sewing The word that incites terror in most newbie sewing enthusiasts: zippers. Now that I have a few years of sewing under my belt I’m less cowed by them, but there’s something about long, separating zippers that still makes me nervous. I powered through, however, and made this versatile twill hooded jacket originating from a @patterncouture_ zip-up hoodie pattern meant for knit fabrics that I modified a lot. I blogged about it! Link in bio if you’d like to see the different versions I created.

To skip zippers altogether and make a truly summery garment, swipe and check out my NEW @creativebug Tiered Dress class (link also in bio!). Back to sewing more hot weather stuff because I’m going to Japan for a special trip next week! 🇯🇵🇯🇵
