I'm still on a poppies painting rampage, and I figured they might make a rather sweet Mother's Day card/tag/whatever...what do you think? It could be a bright little embellishment to your Mother's Day gift or print on some sturdy cardstock and write a message on the back! It's up to you. There are four per page, which is probably more than you need, but it's always nice to have extras, right? Chutzpah
About a month ago, a collarless cat appeared in our yard out of nowhere. He lithely hopped onto our next door neighbor's porch (our townhouses are side-by-side) and gave K a saucy stare. He slowly glided to and fro, sizing us up, as though we were auditioning for the role of potential owners. We were on our way out and I urged K and M to hurry, but K was riveted. I happened to have my camera on me, so I snapped a few photos, all the while saying, "C'mon, we have to go!" Oh, he was ... Read more
Monday Outfit: Rosy Knits
Let's face it. As much as I can't seem to stop sewing with linen, nine times out of ten, K will reach for the knits. I've long stopped feeling intimidated by the slinky, stretchy stuff, but I have to admit that it's not my favorite type of fabric to sew. But I get it. So when K asked if I would make her a knit top with a giant honking bow where her boobs ... Read more
Happy Friday + Randomness
Happy Friday! Boy, am I glad it's the end of the week. I caught K's stomach bug and spent all day Wednesday in bed and part of Thursday feeling mildly queasy - I got about 20 hours of sleep though, and thankfully, it was a 24-hour thing so I'm back to my normal self today. The goldfish illustration is truly random, but I did feel like I was underwater whilst in in the grips of what felt like food poisoning. I've come to the conclusion that M must not be human because he never gets ... Read more
E & E Spring Showers Jacket
I love being part of pattern tours, I really do. I have a lot of fun sewing from my Japanese pattern books, but I feel like I get an extra dose of inspiration from sewing up the many fantastic indie patterns I've been lucky enough to try. Heidi of Elegance and Elephants is one of my favorite designers. I know that I'm in good hands when I follow her steps, and I'm always delighted by the clever little details she includes. And the end result is professional and beautiful. And she's so ... Read more
