KCWC Day 1: leggings

October 8, 2012

We had such a hectic weekend! In our rush to get from good-bye party to playdate to a wedding in time (M was officiating!) I threw out the cord thingy to download pictures from my camera, and now it is nowhere to be found.

Hence, there will be no photographic evidence of my KCWC participation until said cord is located…I’m easing in with a super easy pattern anyway: Figgy’s Sunki leggings. I started late last night, and maybe twenty (thirty?) minutes and a cranky serger later, I had two pairs. Love it.

++++ Update: cord thingy found!

I just realized that this week marks 10 years sinc I just realized that this week marks 10 years since my first craft book Sewing Happiness was published. I’ve sewn literally thousands of garments and other textile projects in the last decade! I included a Sashiko primer in the book, and I’m delighted that this humble Japanese embroidery practice has stood the test of time - if anything, I’ve noticed that there’s an ever growing enthusiasm for hand stitching. Fun news: I’ll be teaching a virtual Sashiko workshop for @tatterbluelibrary on Thursday, April 30th at noon ET. Link in profile! Would love to see you there! 💙💙💙💙💙
