Happy Friday + Boho Dolman Top

Happy Friday, friends! Here is the last of my KCWC creations from last week that I was finally able to get photographed.

First, the fabric: a GORGEOUS embroidered delicate knit. I am in love with the colors.

Second, the pattern: self-drafted. Sadly, I am no pattern maker and this was not a huge success. Since I’m not the best at sewing knits, it looks somewhat frumpy to me. But you know what? Six-year-olds don’t stay still long enough, so my many sewing sins are hard to detect.

I think it looks a little like it could have come from Anthropologie – what do you think?

Have a fabulous weekend, all!

Very cute and rustic, and yes, Anthropologie-ish. It *is* a gorgeous fabric. I think it would also make a great sundress 🙂

Good idea! I still have some of the fabric left and might be able to squeeze a sundress out of it. 🙂

The fabric is fabulous! Wow… The drafting of your pattern isn’t bad, but I understand where you’re coming from. Yah, knits aren’t the easiest to work with. I’m sewing some as we speak and we have a love/hate relationship.

Thanks, Connie – perhaps I will have a size 12 for you when I’ve gotten my pattern-making skills up to snuff! I am practicing, practicing, practicing 🙂

I’m not known for my green thumb, but I’ve bee I’m not known for my green thumb, but I’ve been able to nurture the indigo plant seeds that my dear friend @rachelannbillingsgrunig gave me (harvested from her own garden!). Rachel is a master at natural dyeing and I’m super excited to learn from her and create indigo-dyed linen. This is all I have going on in the gardening front, but these bright green seedling leaves sure feel perfectly summer-y to me…🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
