Happy Friday + Randomness

December 4, 2015

longest-scarf1

Happy Friday! The knitting is still going on, can you believe it? I try to knit a few rows every day, and I sometimes wonder if I’ll just keep at it until it’s the longest scarf ever. K would love to be able to say, “My mom knitted the longest scarf in the universe.”

An inadvertent ombre effect is happening since I don’t have enough of any one color.

That raised row was a mistake, but I like it.

It’s quite possible that I’ve finally caught the knitting bug…

We went out for Indian food two nights ago, where some MMA competition was on TV. K watched for a while and sagely commented, “I guess you can’t be ticklish and be a wrestler. That’s a lot of armpit grabbing.”

I am still coughing
But I’m feeling pretty good
Happy weekend, friends!

P.S. Furoku members! #9 is out, please let me know if you have any problems viewing/downloading (I added a lot of stuff this time).

P.P.S. Winners of the giveaway, Eleanor and Karissa, I’ll be shipping the books this weekend. Thanks for playing, everyone!

Thanks Em! It’s the scarf that never ends that goes with the cough that never ends :-). I think I might finally be at the tail end of the cough though!

Yay for knitting! Tip so you don’t wear out: before commencing to knit, relax the shoulders, upper back, and shake out the arms and hands 🙂 That way, you aren’t doing tense knitting! Take lots of breaks, and listen to your hands if they tire. I recently picked it up, too. Wishing you a healthy holiday season!!

Excellent advice, Jeannie! It won’t do to get knots in my neck and cramps in my hands because of this activity meant for relaxation :-). Thank you!

I’m delighted by your ombre scarf with unintentional-yet-totally-cool raised row! And of course, you can’t ever go wrong with blue:) Glad you’re feeling better, but hoping for your cough to end soon.

Thank you Lucinda! The cough is almost gone but seems to bubble up at the weirdest moments. I’m starting to run out of blue yarn, so I’m thinking of continuing with tones of grey…we’ll see! 🙂
