So for today, I originally planned on promoting the class I&#8217;ll be teaching at <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.drygoodsdesignonline.com\/make*do*mend:-japanese-dress-book-workshop-with-sanae-ishida-sunday-october-13-1o-am-to-4-pm\/dp\/3122\" target=\"_blank\">Drygoods<\/a>\u00a0to get more people signed up, but just as I finished the post, Keli contacted me with the great news that it&#8217;s sold out (happy dance). I&#8217;ll be teaching how to make the quintessential Japanese-style tunic, of which I&#8217;ve made many. Above is an illo of the ones I&#8217;ve made to date and I&#8217;m sewing more as I type this. Very, very excited. And more good news: I will be teaching <em>another<\/em> class shortly after &#8211; we&#8217;re working out the details and I will update you as soon as it&#8217;s all sorted out!<\/p>\n<p>And let&#8217;s not forget the winner for the <a href=\"http:\/\/sewpony.blogspot.com.au\/p\/patterns.html\" target=\"_blank\">sewpony Debbie&#8217;s Birthday Dress<\/a> pattern! Congrats to random number generator #26: Katie P, whose favorite book is Blueberries for Sal by Robert McCloskey. You should have received an email from me already, Katie, and I hope you&#8217;ll share with me and Suz your version of the Debbie&#8217;s Birthday Dress!<\/p>\n<p>**************************************************************************<\/p>\n<p>M lost his wallet a couple of weeks ago, and there was a flurry of activity and concern around identity theft, etc. All has been restored, thankfully, but it reminded me of a conversation I overheard between K and her friend last year that I found in one of my journals:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friend:<\/strong> A robber stoled our credit card before&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>K:<\/strong> How did it stole it?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friend:<\/strong> I don&#8217;t know. It just did. And the robber used up all the money on the credit card.<\/p>\n<p><strong>K:<\/strong> All of it!!??<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friend:<\/strong> Yeah. Wait. All of it except for a dollar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>K:<\/strong> Whew. That&#8217;s good that it left a dollar!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friend:<\/strong> I know!<\/p>\n<p><em style=\"font-size: 16px;\">I especially love the grammatical errors and the reference to the robber as &#8220;it&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>**************************************************************************<\/p>\n<p>Have a happy weekend, all!
