I like that these taste very natural without the cloying sweetness common in commercial fruit snacks. The strawberry seeds give it a bit of texture and the orange juice I used enhances the sweetness with a \u00a0touch of underlying tartness.<\/p>\n<p>To make it awesomely healthy, I think this would be delicious with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.macrobiotic.asia\/goods_en_usd_399.html?gclid=CMSbzPGet7cCFbGDQgodeVYA8w\" target=\"_blank\">agar agar powder<\/a> instead of gelatin. And I can think of so many different kinds of fruit that could be used &#8211; how yummy would a mango-pineapple-peach fruit snack be?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sanaeishida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/homemade-fruit-snacks52.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4332\" title=\"homemade-fruit-snacks5\" src=\"http:\/\/sanaeishida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/homemade-fruit-snacks52.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sanaeishida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/homemade-fruit-snacks52.jpg 800w, https:\/\/sanaeishida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/homemade-fruit-snacks52-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what I did to make them:<\/p>\n<p><em>3 cups quartered strawberries<\/em><br \/>\n<em> 1\/2 cup of orange juice<\/em><br \/>\n<em> 2 tablespoons honey<\/em><br \/>\n<em> 4 packets of Knox gelatin<\/em><\/p>\n<p>1. Chop up strawberries and place in small sauce pan with 1\/2 cup of orange juice. Cook over medium-low heat until softened, about 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>2. Place in blender and puree. Pour into a bowl and let cool for a couple of minutes.<\/p>\n<p>3. Add honey and slowly whisk gelatin into hot puree. You&#8217;ll have to whisk briskly to get all the lumpy bits out.<\/p>\n<p>4. Once mixed, pour fruit snack mixture into molds or a baking dish. The recipe called for 9&#215;13 inch, but mine was only 7 x 5, and was about 1-inch in depth.<\/p>\n<p>5. Chill in refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours. Cut out into cute shapes or into squares and pop &#8217;em in your mouth!
