A few more sneak peeks&#8230;I&#8217;ve hung all the artwork at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drygoodsdesignonline.com\/pages\/location\" target=\"_blank\">Drygoods Design<\/a>, and I really like how they look in the space. It was too dark to get photos of them in situ, but I will try to snag some pix in the next couple of days. There are 12 pieces in total and I took some pictures of them before taking them to the studio\/shop.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sanaeishida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/sashiko-moresneakpeek1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1534\" title=\"sashiko-moresneakpeek1\" src=\"http:\/\/sanaeishida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/sashiko-moresneakpeek1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sanaeishida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/sashiko-moresneakpeek1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/sanaeishida.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/sashiko-moresneakpeek1-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This one is my absolute favorite. It&#8217;s called &#8220;<em>wabi-sabi<\/em>&#8220;. It took a million years to stitch, and the metallic linen is amazing &#8211; I love the textures of all the elements together. It&#8217;s not big (the fabric portion is about 7 inches x 7 inches), and so the stitches are minuscule. I realize my little art show is not going to raise very much, but I wanted to contribute in some way. &#8220;Sashiko&#8221; means &#8220;little stabs&#8221; and was traditionally used to repair worn fabric.\u00a0I wanted my creations to reflect a sense of mending, of stitching together, of reinforcing strength through small measures.<\/p>\n<p>Have a lovely weekend, friends! The Art Walk is from 6-9pm this Saturday, January 12th. I will be there from about 6-7pm.
